I arrived Thursday night to discover that they had closed a half hour earlier at 8:00 P.M. (I was still on east coast time).
Here is an incredible track constructed by Brad Bowman. It has a 144' lap
length, it is 8 lanes wide. It's on a table about 29' x 18'. The steepest,
largest corner is turn 2. Turns 1,4,5,7 and 8 all have about 30-35 degrees of
banking. Turns 3 and 6 only have 20. Turns 4 and 7 are the sharpest corners
at about 40" diameter.
Brad spent 6 months building and 5 days installing that track.
Here is a better look turn 2. It's has 56 degrees of banking and a 12' diameter.
Here is a look at the newly installed track. Another Brad Bowman beauty. It is well suited for non-magnet cars with its very mild banking but a dream for magnet cars as well.
Here is a look at the drag strip. These cars are wicked fast! And I was watching a pack of Girl Scouts running these cars. They had rented the track for a Girl Scout activity.
